A small farm town like Forney, Texas, back in the day was the kind of place where you learned early how to talk to anyone — and Charles Tomlinson grew up in exactly that. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and went on to serve as a Dallas Police Department officer for 20 years. After retiring from the force, Charles started his next chapter at TC Roofing & Restorations — and the same instincts that made him good at long-form policing are exactly what make him good at the homeowner conversations he handles now: he listens before he talks, he is honest, and he does the work like a professional.
Charles's specialty is talking with homeowners. After two decades of police work, his superpower is being a good listener — a deceptively rare skill in the roofing world. The mentor's wisdom he carries is short and earned: work hard, do right by others. The most rewarding part of the work for him is being able to provide a great, professional service that makes everyone proud — clients, the team, and himself — and his promise to clients is that he will always be a true professional, no matter the situation or the stress level on the other end of the conversation.
Home for Charles is his wife, their twin daughters, and the eight dogs that live with them. (Yes, eight.) Off the clock, you'll most likely find him smoking BBQ — the man can run a smoker. Fun fact: he was a great athlete back in the day. His five-year goal is straightforward and well-earned after 20 years on the force: financial freedom.
